Wonderful Weekend Away!

So last weekend was the annual Fox family getaway, every year all the Aunts, Uncles, Cousins get together at someone's cottage to enjoy each other's company.  We had 33 people show up and 10 that were unable to attend for various reasons, that actually is a below average turnout. This year we were at Martiny Lake, which is located between Remus and Barryton. It was a great time and minus some hellacious rains Saturday afternoon (which stopped a lot of the water activities), and a foot injury to myself, I wouldn't have changed a thing! I have to say as I get older I enjoy the time spent with the extended family more and more. The time was filled with a scavenger hunt, cards, a bonfire, washer toss, a kayaking and good banter between all. Here's to next year and another great weekend! (with out injury of course)

Have a safe and prosperous week!

turtleSounds like a great time! I just wanted to say HI and leave a comment. I saw that people read your post but no one left a comment and I do love reading comments on my posts. So have a great rest of the week and recover from your week-end! Brenda :)

Glad you had a great weekend with the family.  My husband's family had their Annual Family Reunion last weekend too.  We hadn't been able to attend the past few years, so we made a special effort to get back to Louisiana to attend the Reunion and combine some business.  It was great seeing everyone again -- inspite of the storm earlier that morning that left us without electricity to cook and warm up some of the foods.  Luckily it's always held at a State Park and there were barbeque grills close by, someone went into town, bought charcoal and they cooked and heat up the other foods on the grills.  :)

BRenda- Thanks for the post, I wasn't expecting a huge response so I appriciate it. I like reading my comments to!

Judi- Sounds like you were in a similar situation just half way across the country :) I find when those situations (losing the power)  arise it can actually make it a little more fun if you look at it in the right propsective, even if it creates more work and frustration.
